چکیده

In the present communication, we report on exploitation of a Bloch surface wave-enhanced fluorescence scheme for detection Interleukin (IL)-10 in protein-rich buffer mimicking biological sample. IL-10 is cytokine known its potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. It considered valuable biomarker prognostic prediction both solid tumors hematological malignancies, recently, distinguishing feature hyperinflammation during severe viral infections. To demonstrate validity technique, transferred all reagents working concentrations used gold-standard such as ELISA, to our assay, with substantial reduction execution time without using any enzymatic amplification recognition. We estimate limit (LoD) terms concentration solution order 110 pg/mL (5.8 pM) 14% accuracy; other terms, presented technique compatible assay range resolution (1.6 commercial ELISA kits. Moreover, LoD successfully matches reported literature COVID-19 patients, making BSW-based sensors viable rapid accurate screening COVID-19-related molecules.

extremal region detection guided by maxima of gradient magnitude

a problem of computer vision applications is to detect regions of interest under dif- ferent imaging conditions. the state-of-the-art maximally stable extremal regions (mser) detects affine covariant regions by applying all possible thresholds on the input image, and through three main steps including: 1) making a component tree of extremal regions’ evolution (enumeration), 2) obtaining region ...

Analytical Investigation of TM Surface Waves in 1D Photonic Crystals Capped by a Self-Focusing Left-Handed Slab

In this paper, the localized TM surface waves of a nonlinear self-focusingleft-handed slab sandwiched between a uniform medium and a one-dimensionalphotonic crystal (1D PC) is analytically investigated. Our method is based on the firstintegral of the nonlinear Maxwell's equations. For the TM surface waves, the presenceof two electric field components makes the analysis difficult. Therefore, we ...

Surface EM waves on 1D Photonic Crystals

Photonic crystals are artificial low-loss dielectric structures with periodic modulation of refractive index, which have attracted considerable attention in the last two decades. Due to Bragg reflection, electromagnetic (optical) waves cannot propagate through such structures in certain directions, at certain frequencies. Hence, photonic crystals can control the propagation of electromagnetic w...

Theory of slow light excitation in 1D photonic crystals

Slow light (SL) states corresponding to wavelength regions near the bandgap edge of grated structures are known to show strong field enhancement. Such states may be excited efficiently by well-optimised adiabatic transitions in grating structures, e.g., by slowly turning on the modulation depth. To study adiabatic excitations, a detailed investigation in 1D is performed to obtain insight into t...

Slow-light enhanced optical detection in liquid-infiltrated photonic crystals

Slow-light enhanced optical detection in liquid-infiltrated photonic crystals is theoretically studied. Using a scattering-matrix approach and the Wigner–Smith delay time concept, we show that optical absorbance benefits both from slow-light phenomena as well as a high filling factor of the energy residing in the liquid. Utilizing strongly dispersive photonic crystal structures, we numerically ...
